Which cartridge to be used on HP Envy 5540? Conflicting advice received!

I have been using my HP Envy 5530 for a couple of years now, and have been very happy with it until recently, when the wireless link stopped working amongst other things, in spite of my deleting the printer and reinstalling it from the HP website a few times.  I was looking to buy a HP Envy 5540 as a replacement but wanted to make sure I could use the unopened HP 301 XL cartridges I bought previously, but some sellers / websites say yes, and others say that it’s just HP 302 XL cartridges which are to be used.   

If it’s the latter, I’d be grateful for any suggestions as to which not-discontinued HP Envy printer I can use my HP 301 XLs cartridges with!  Thank you so much in advance – all suggestions will be gratefully received
