Will 564xl black ink cartridge work on OfficeJet Pro 6978

I just purchased an officejet pro 6978 to replace my old HP309C .  I still have two full 564xl black print cartridges for my HP309c.  They appear to be the same size as the 902 black ink cartridge that came with the 6978.  Will those cartridges work in my new printer?

I know what the specifications say.  But if my 564XL cartridge is the same form and fit to the 902 cartridge, will it work in my 6978 Office Pro printer?  Will I damage my printer if I try to use it?

Sorry no it will not work.  There are probably 20 cartridges that will fit, but they will not work.

If you will insert the cartridges apart from 902 then you will receive a error message saying "Incompatible cartridges "
