Some Ideas
If you can do so without revealing any private information,
Please post an image of the job failure message that includes where you are seeing the message.
Reminder: Do not post a full screen print of the entire screen.
If the issue is correctable using the simplest of interventions,
Try / Consider: Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network.
This might be enough to fix whatever is causing the problem.
If the system is pending an update (Windows Updates) and needs to be restarted, the "pending" a restart can sometimes result in odd behavior. Check that Windows Updates are current and installed.
Intermittent job errors can be -- and are frequently -- caused by corrupted printer software.
If you have not done so,
If the Full Feature software is installed,
Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features
Restart the computer and log in
Check for lurking bits of printer / printer software in Devices and Printers - Remove if found and Restart the computer
Install a fresh copy of the printer software
Restart the computer and log in
Question:
Are you using the HP Smart Printing Queue?
If the issue were one of Temp folder permission I would expect the jobs would disappear instead of reporting as cancelled. Nonetheless, it might be worth the couple of minutes it takes to check.
If the job loss is intermittent or constant,
If you have not done so,
Try / Consider: Clear and Restart the Print Service
Manual Queue Reset
