Hello,
I have a problem with my Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 laptop with the hp officejet pro 8710 printer on windows 11 x64.
I have everything configurator and correctly installed (last driver from hp's official website for windows 11 x64) and all windows 11 updates.
I try to print and the file on the queue windows appears after 1 second then the file disappears and the document is not printed.
I would appreciate your help.

One issue that can result in jobs entering and then quickly disappearing from the printer queue: permission
Jobs in Print Queue Disappear
If the print job is making its way to the print queue and then disappearing,
Check / Correct the folder permission(s)
- Temp folder requires full permissions, including Read / Write, for current user
- Check / add / edit permissions for user (current login) on Temp folders
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Users\AccountName\AppData\Local\Temp
Example
Temp_Folder_Permissions_3

The trick might be to find something you've not already tried by now.
==================================================================================
Print Queue / Print Services
The queue is run by Windows - the Print Services and / or the queue folder might be stuck.
This is not quite the same thing as a job entering the queue and disappearing but the two symptoms might be related.
Print Queue / Print Service Reset
After a print job has been accepted, it is turned over the Windows Print Services for completion.
When a job is "stuck in the queue", it is sometimes due to Print Services having hung, become stuck, or otherwise failing to properly complete the job.
Start Here: Print job stuck in Queue
and / or
First, check that Windows Update does not need to install updates (or Restart)
Settings > Update and Security > Check for Updates
NOTE: If an update is already pending, install that update > Restart the computer and log in
Next…
If the current print job will not cancel or if a previous print job is stuck in the queue,
and
If the issue is due to Print Services being stuck / hung / corrupted, Restart the Print Service
Manual Queue Reset
Details…
Control Panel > icon view > Administrative Tools > Services
Scroll down, find, Right-Click, and Stop Print Spooler Service
Open File Explorer (formally Windows Explorer)
Navigate to the folder and Delete the files from folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Start Print Spooler Service
==================================================================================
Printer Software
Having removed (uninstalled) and reinstalled the full driver printer software is one of the first things to have tried.
Make sure the current job is actually being sent to the printer (default printer / selected printer in the job).
Uninstall Existing Printer Software (Full Feature Software)
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >
Find / Select > Uninstall the printer software
Restart the computer and log in
If software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and is “still hanging around” after you uninstall / Restart...
Microsoft: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
OR
Revo Uninstaller (Free version)
then
Restart the computer and log in
Installation – Full Feature Software
Full Feature Software / full driver printer software installation package
HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories

- If using VPN, shut it off to install software
- Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software

Printer Connection Type - TCP/IP
The printer connection type can cause issues of various kinds, possibly including jobs getting to the queue and then disappearing. Though the issue is generally one of permission, the connection might be breaking before the job can start. ??
Method - Create TCP IP port
** Install – Optional - Port Issues - Create a TCP/IP port **
TCP/IP can resolve odd connection, scanning, and installation problems.
Create / Switch to a TCP/IP Port to facilitate communication and prevent ‘offline’ issues
How-to “Create TCP Port” Contributed by greenturtle:
Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address
OR Tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address
On your PC, Open Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, Right-Click the printer and Left-Click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
Click Add Port > Select Standard TCP/IP Port > Select New Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
How-to “Create TCP Port” Video Contributed by greenturtle
Create & Use TCP IP port
Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port within the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Doctor Remedy
The Offline Doctor (the older version of the Print and Scan Doctor program) can sometimes fix this sort of issue.
Yes, it might (again) uninstall the printer software and reinstall it, too.
Resource – Choose the right doctor for the job
Open Website
HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click the green Download Now option / box
Wait!
If the problem / issue is one or more of
- Printer is Offline
- Cannot print in Color
- Duplex printing has disappeared
- Installation continues to fail
Try this “Offline” Doctor version:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
After the doctor runs, Restart the computer and log in.
Doctor will finish any necessary setups.
NOTES – The “Offline” doctor
As a result of repairing issues,
Offline / Color check / Duplex check version of the Doctor may replace the printer or add a “(Copy 1)” version of the driver in Devices and Printers.
If there are two printers in Devices and Printers,
If one of them does not work,
Try sending your job to the “Copy 1” named printer.
Later
If you want / need to rename the “Copy 1” printer:
Open Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Right-Click on the printer name > Printer Properties > Tab General >
In the top box, Edit the name of the printer (For example, remove the part that says “Copy 1”)
Click Apply / OK to save change
NOTE: The name change may take a bit of time (a few minutes), else Restart the computer and log in.
==================================================================================
What else?
Try a printer Restart as described in this document.
Check the printer Firmware > At this writing, the release date for the most recent printer firmware was back in Apr 5, 2021 (not likely the issue -- worth checking).
HP Printers - Printer Turns Off Unexpectedly or Repeatedly
Step 2: Restart the printer
Step 3: Update the Firmware
