I'm trying to install a recommended update but I keep getting the following message.

 

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:

I see that you are getting errors, when trying to run the Windows Updates to install the printer. I will certainly do my best to help you.

 

I would suggest to uninstall any old software for the printer, if you updated to Windows 10. Then download and install the latest drivers from HP.  HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer Series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

 

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

Thanks for the info and linke. At least one HP tech does their job well!  I have continued to get that error:(Hewlett-Packard - Enterprise WSD Multi-Function Printer, Multi-Function Printer, Other hardware - Null Print - HP ENVY 5660 series - Error 0x800f020b) and I would go to HP's normal update driver check and it would say there aren't any updates for this printer.  And yet now we know that's not true! I regret though ever agreeing to buy this printer, when HP tech rep said my old printer, not able to use printing black ink, couldn't be fixed. When the ink basket can be pulled out and replaced.  She said this printer is by far the best HP printer I could buy for the price. She said she would give me a discount on this printer, which is better than my old one, but the box has been open for various reasons, so it was consider "refurbished".  I've had issues with it ever since I got it! The HP tech, was just trying to get bonuses, over the needs of a customer! I could have actually bought a brand new laser jet for $10 more. Now how is that "by far the best printer, I could buy"? Ooh and I have cancer and wasn't even able to use this printer till over 30 days, so I was unable to return it, for 30 day return policy.

Windows 10 has been constantly trying to update my HP ENVY 5660 driver for months now and it cannot do it and I

Well, since it could not install it, I deleted the driver and tried to add the lastest driver with HP Printer Wizard since I have done this easily with HP drivers many times in the past and now I cannot get any driver installed. I called HP tech support and they say the problem is with the Microsoft operating system not with HP. I have been working with Microsoft for several days now and they cannot get the driver installed. I wish Windows 10/Microsoft would stay away from installing drivers. It appears they cannot do it. I went to HP.com/support and looked for any updated drivers. There aren't any. So why was it trying to install a supposedly new driver? They have the same version driver that I had uninstalled to get a new driver when there are not any. Its the same old driver listed for Windows 7, 8 and 10. Nothing new. I don't know why Windows 10 was trying to install a new driver when there is none. I wish Windows 10 would not be allowed to install drivers. It can mess up your operating system if a wrong driver is installed. 11/9/16.
