Officejet pro 6978 wireless settings are withIcon locked, and the message I receive says "The feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer." I have moved my printer to a different wireless router, it won't connect due to lock. I did reboot and reset again and again. I have called tech support. They said my warrant expired May 2019. It needs upgrade. It means I have to buy new product. What do I do with that printer?

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
