Having issues with expired ink message.  something reset everything and now it is telling me I have the wrong cartridges installed and i need to insert the ones that came with the printer.  I have been using this for over 10 years.  How do I get past this?  I have tried removing cartridges, unplugging power, plugging back in, installing cartridges, etc.

Still the same message.  It all started because it kept telling me I had expired ink cartridges.  I would get this message about 10 times a day.

Is there a fix or just scrap it?

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting ink cartridge error.

Reset the printer

  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

  2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.

  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

  7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button () to turn it on.

Clean the cartridge contacts

  1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is turned on.

  2. Lift the ink cartridge door.
