@KRL55, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Yellow Flashing Light and "E" Error on HP Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP printer is showing a yellow flashing light and an "E" error on the display, this indicates that the printer requires user action to address a specific issue. Here are steps to resolve the problem:
Check for Packaging Material:
- Ensure that all packaging material has been removed from around the print carriage and printhead.
- Open the hinged flap and check that the printhead cover is latched down properly.
Check Paper Jams:
- For Sheet Paper: Remove the input tray, lift the top cover, and check for any paper stuck inside the printer. Remove any visible paper carefully.
- For Roll Paper: Ensure that the roll of paper is properly aligned and remove any trapped paper from the front, top, and rear paths.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Open the ink cartridge cover and check that all ink cartridges are installed correctly.
- If any ink cartridge needs replacing, the corresponding ink icon on the front panel will flash.
Check Printhead:
- If a printhead icon is flashing, make sure the printhead is properly seated.
- Clean the printhead contacts as described in the printer’s manual.
Printer's Setup:
- Verify that the inner cover of the printheads is closed and the latch is in the correct position.
- Ensure the cover of the ink cartridges is closed properly.
Steps for Cleaning and Checking:
Turn off the Printer:
- Unplug the power cable to ensure safety while checking the components.
Remove Media:
- Remove all visible paper or media that might be jammed in the printer.
Reassemble the Printer:
- Close all covers properly and make sure everything is secure.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn the printer back on and check if the issue is resolved. If the yellow light still flashes, press the OK key to see if it clears the attention.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
