Hi @McHugh2020
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "missing yellow" issue.
To better assist you -
1) Does the color copy work?
2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?
While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -
-
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
From the printer control panel, open the Setup menu.
-
Open the Reports or Tools menu.
-
Touch Print Quality Report.
Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.
You may also refer to this document with steps to fix "color not printing" issue applicable for your printer - Black or color Ink Not Printing
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks so much Jay! Regardless of whether I attempt a color copy, or which apps I use, or which diagnostic reports from the printer menu that I choose, my printer will not print the color yellow. I have tried 2 new yellow cartridges, and have run every possible maintenance task that I could find (for example - printer head cleaning). I have even uninstalled my printer and re-installed it and the drivers again. Nothing helps. The printer will simply not print yellow.
I called a local computer repair shop, and he suggested that it was likely a bad print head, and that I should simply buy a new printer. This particular printer that I have is 3 years old.
Do you agree that I just need a new printer?

Hi @McHugh2020
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

Thanks very much for your response. I have decided that it would be more practical to just order a new printer.
But, I am disappointed that I have to do this for such a minor issue, after I've only had the printer for 3 years.
