Hi @Raghu27,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
The "Zero Rotation Error" on an HP Smart Tank 585 printer can indicate an issue with the printhead, print carriage, or sensor responsible for detecting the movement of parts during printing. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve this error:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error persists.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:
- Open the printer's access door and inspect for any paper jams or foreign objects that may be blocking the print carriage.
- Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damaging the printer.
Clean the Printhead and Sensors:
- Open the printhead access area.
- Gently remove the printhead and inspect it for any ink buildup or debris.
- Clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
- Look for any sensors or parts that may have ink or debris buildup, and clean them gently.
Reset the Printhead:
- If the printhead is not correctly seated, it may trigger this error.
- Reseat the printhead by removing it and carefully placing it back into its slot.
- Ensure it clicks into place securely.
Check the Print Carriage Movement:
- Turn off the printer and manually move the print carriage (the part holding the ink cartridges) left to right to check if it moves smoothly.
- If you feel resistance or blockage, inspect for anything that may be stuck in the carriage path and remove it.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
