HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer

My 2-week-old 9730e Printer worked fine until I performed the firmware update 6.23.1.15-20240701641.  Follow HP notice of firmware issue instructions about opening the front, power down - nothing.  I have power cycled  printer, unplugged, power cycled my router and laptop - still nothing.  Uninstalled and reinstalled all of the printer drivers - still nothing.  HP Print Doctor shows I am online and printer ready, the printer installed - just simply it will not print. the test page or any docs from the laptop (HP Spectre).

Hi @Tomar405

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s frustrating when a firmware update disrupts a perfectly working printer. Since you've already tried power cycling, reinstalling drivers, and running HP Print Doctor, here are some additional steps that might help:

Check for a New Firmware Update

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Reset Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Try Printing from a Different Device

  • If possible, attempt printing from another computer or mobile device.
  • This helps determine if the issue is specific to your laptop.

Let me know if you need further guidance!

Hawkes_Eye,

So your response has been the most effective to date.  Thank you!

Interestingly enough, I was able to print from another laptop. However, after reinstalling the HP Easy Start, I ran into an issue with Error Code UA_200_OWSVD00001.   I cleared cookies and history from my browser - no effect, as I get the same error.  While I can print from MS Word from another laptop, I can still not print from my work laptop (HP Spectre), where (again) I could do so without issue before the firmware update...  I am quite tech-savvy, and this has me stumped.

I appreciate your patience in troubleshooting this issue—it’s frustrating when something that worked perfectly before suddenly stops after an update. Since you’re encountering Error Code UA_200_OWSVD00001, it seems to be related to HP account registration or connectivity issues after reinstalling HP Easy Start.

Steps to Fix the Issue:

Check HP Account Registration

  • This error often appears when the printer isn’t properly registered with HP cloud services.
  • Try logging into HP Smart and ensuring your printer is correctly linked to your account.

Restore Printer Factory Defaults

  • Open the HP Smart App or enter the printer’s IP address in a web browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Navigate to Settings > Restore Factory Defaults and reset the printer.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi and try printing again.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Even though the firmware update caused the issue, HP may have released a fix.
  • Check for updates via HP Smart or the printer’s EWS settings.

Try a Different Browser or Device

  • Some users have resolved this error by switching browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox).
  • If possible, try setting up the printer on another device and then reconnecting it to your work laptop.

I know you’ve already tried a lot, but hopefully one of these steps helps resolve the issue.

Let me know if you need more details—I appreciate your patience!

I still can't print from my HP Spectre laptop. I've been sending all the documents I need to print to my son's Dell laptop, and he is able to print successfully.  I have gone into my firewall and made sure all the ports are set, I have run the HP print doctor a dozen times, and it cannot print a test page but says everything is online. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, unplugged and restarted both the laptop and the printer.  I am using Windows 11 - know that it worked fine when I initially set up the printer with my HP Spectre - but after the first firmware update to the printer, it would no longer print.

My current firmware version is 6.23.5.3-202503240855

Very frustrating!
