Hi @Budgie14

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If both of your HP printers are regularly showing all lights flashing, this typically indicates that the printer is encountering a problem that requires attention. The flashing lights usually signify an error or malfunction, and the meaning can vary depending on the model of the printer. Here are some common causes and solutions to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Paper Jam or Paper Feed Issue

A paper jam or feed issue could cause all lights to flash, especially if the printer detects paper stuck inside.

Solution:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer’s access doors and carefully remove any jammed paper or debris.
  • Check the paper tray for any misaligned or damaged paper.
  • Once everything is clear, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

2. Low or Empty Ink Cartridge

Some printers flash all lights to alert you when the ink is low or the cartridge is not properly installed.

Solution:

  • Check the ink levels in your printer through the HP Smart app or the printer's display screen (if applicable).
  • Open the printer and ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • If the ink is low or empty, replace the cartridges with new ones.

3. Cartridge Issues

Sometimes the ink cartridges might not be seated properly, or there could be an issue with the cartridge itself (like a chip error).

Solution:

  • Open the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Reinstall the cartridges carefully, making sure they are properly seated.
  • If the issue persists, try replacing the cartridges with new, genuine HP ink cartridges.

4. Printer Cover or Door Not Properly Closed

If the printer’s cover or door isn’t fully closed, it can cause the lights to flash.

Solution:

  • Ensure that the printer door is properly closed.
  • Check for any obstructions that may be preventing it from closing fully.

5. Connection Issues (Wireless or USB)

If there is a problem with the printer’s connection to the computer or network, all lights may flash to indicate an issue.

Solution:

  • If the printer is connected via USB, check the cable and try reconnecting it to another USB port on your computer.
  • For wireless printers, check the Wi-Fi connection:
    • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
    • You can also try restarting your router and the printer to re-establish the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
