I can print from any one of 3 PCs, but I receive a print error message and a blank page from 2 android smart phones. Tried reinstalling Smart print, eprint, and hp printer service (started). Interestingly, it printed a demo page.

As you still have issues printing from an Android device.
Try the steps recommended below.
Clear the Android OS Print Spooler cache
Sometimes resetting and clearing the Android OS Print Spooler cache can resolve the issue.
On your Android device, tap the Settings icon, and then select Apps or Applications.
Select Show System Apps.
Scroll down the list, and then select Print Spooler.
Depending on your Android device, tap Storage, and then select Print Spooler.
Select Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Open the item you want to print, tap the menu icon, and then tap Print.
A print preview screen displays.
Next to Select a printer, tap the down arrow to view the printer list and then select your printer.
- Open the file you’d like to print (anything from Google Drive docs to pictures stored on your phone).
- Select the Menu button (the three dots in the top right corner).
- Hit Print
- Select the 'down' arrow (next to Save as PDF)
- Select the printer you want print from. If you can’t find it off the bat, select All printers to bring up a list of options
- Once you’re all set, click the Print button (usually printer-shaped).
Hope this helps!

Hi! @EasycoolAF,
What is the file format you are trying to print from the smartphone?
The HP Print Service Plugin supports the following file formats:
-
Print menu supported file formats
-
Photos (JPEG, PNG)
-
PDF
-
Microsoft Office files
-
Text files (TXT)
-
Webpages (HTML)
-
Update your smartphone to the latest version and check if it helps.
Try the steps recommended below.
Install or update the HP Print Service Plugin on your Android OS 4.4 or later device from the Google Play Store, and then turn on the plugin.
note:
Menus, icons, and the location of the print settings vary depending on Android version and device manufacturer.
1.Make sure your Android device is connected to the same wireless network that your printer is connected to, or that Wi-Fi Direct on your printer and Android device is enabled.
2.On your Android device, install or update the HP Print Service Plugin (in English) from the Google Play Store.
3.Once the installation or update is complete, choose a method to turn on the HP Print Service Plugin:
note:
On Android devices with 7.0 (Nougat) and later, the HP Print Service Plugin has turned on automatically after installation. Skip to the step to Print with the HP Print Service Plugin.
• If this is the first time you installed the HP Print Service Plugin, swipe down the home screen to display the notification dashboard, and then find HP Inc. service installed.
If you updated the HP Print Service Plugin, tap Settings, tap More, More networks, More settings, or NFC and sharing, and then tap Print or Printing.
4.Tap HP Inc. service installed or HP Inc. and then tap On.
5.Turn off any other print service plugins, if necessary.
Your Android device is now ready to print using the HP Print Service Plugin.

Thank you for your responses and recommendations. All were tried and/or verified as you recommended on a Samsung Note 3 and a Samsung S9+ . Both are updated to the latest software. Both used to print just fine. I believe something has to have changed in the prin t services. The results were always the same- athe printer will load a blank sheet, the phones would show the file (s) were sent to the printer, but the printer would pause, and return the error "Printer Error". Following this, the printer would eject the blank sheet for each page uploaded to it.
Three PC'S print just fine. Two are Windows 7 and one is Windows 10.

A4Apollo,
Thanks for your response. So, after clearing the print spooler cache & data ( settings, applications, general, all, print spooler), I attempted to print 2 different PDF files with multiple pages. (Adobe, PDF file,) Following that, selected the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner, then print. However, doing it this way I needed to select the carat in the upper right hand corner and select my printer. The select the yellow print icon.
You'll be happy to know that the documents printed with no errors. Wonderful!
