Trying to install new ink cartridge in my HP envy 4520. I keep getting an error Code and directions to reinstall the cartridges. Are the HP 63 and HP 63 XL  cartridges still compatible with the HP Envy 4520?

The HP 63 and HP 63 XL ink cartridges are compatible with the HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer. If you're experiencing an error code when installing new cartridges, it might be due to a few possible issues:

 

  • Incorrect Installation: Make sure the cartridges are properly installed. Remove them and reinsert them firmly until they click into place.
  • Dirty Contacts: The contacts on the cartridges or inside the printer might be dirty. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Firmware Issue: Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues or other bugs.  Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Defective Cartridge: Occasionally, a new cartridge might be defective. If possible, try another new cartridge to see if the problem persists.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve errors.
