New printer, just changed out the cartirdges that came with the printer and now the black ink will randomly stop working.  It will print 2 pages fine and then starts to fade out, then disappears.  Cleaned multiple time and aligned the print heads, the top black will print but the bottom black test pattern will not show up at all.  If I let it sit for a while it will print ok and then after 2-3 pages the issue starts again.  We bought it to replace our other printer so we left it in its box for almost a year and so even though we have only printed 900 pages it is past the warranty period.  No problems until we replaced the ink cartridges.  Help please.20190426_220050_resized.jpg20190426_220058_resized.jpg20190426_220055_resized.jpg

Hi @JW48.

A warm welcome to HP Community!
Power resetting the printer and then performing an automated/manual cleaning may resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Clean the ink cartridges, refer to step 2 from this document.

5) Plug the power cord back into the printer

6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.

7) On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

😎 Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

9) Touch Clean Printhead, and then touch Continue. Touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. Repeat these steps for the third cleaning stage.

10) On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

11) Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

12) Touch Align Printhead, and then touch Continue.

Let me know how it goes!
