Get blank horizintal strips on page where text seems to be masked out. Cartridges are full, cleaned ink cartridges. HP Print & Scan Docter gives everything a thumbs up. But Print Quality Diagnostic page still shows problem. Have recently installed my old printer (was working fine) to a new desktop.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645 All-in-One Printer and are facing print quality issues. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
To assist you better, I would like to know the following information:
- Are you using original HP ink cartridges or refilled ink?
- Is the printer able to make a photocopy correctly? If yes then it indicates that the printer and ink cartridges are all good.
- Did you clean the cartridges manually or through the software?
While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
Please review the steps mentioned under "Solution six: Print and evaluate a Print Quality Diagnostic Report " from this HP document and perform only those steps that have been not yet initiated.
In case the print quality issue persists then you may reach out to our HP phone support team to check the available service options for your HP printer.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Thanks for advice MKazi. Am using original HP cartridges, used software to clean printer head. Photocopier also showed same blank lines. Followed the steps you kindly forwarded. One of the last steps included cleaning printer head (again) and mentioned one may need to do it several times. I noticed marginal improvement and then repeated Each time a litlle better. After cleaning printer head 12 times in succession, it was perfect again. Many thanks for advice. Problem sorted
