Is it possible to use HP 932 XL ink cartridges with a HP 6700 premium printer that came with the 4 little black and color cartridges? I thought this was listed as a replacement and boughtit 932 XL because I only need black some but now see that the cartridge area has plastic separations for the four little cartridges. Are these permanent so that I must buy the four pack replacement?
Feeling really stupid and apreciate any help.

The Officejet 6700 requires the HP 932 or 932XL cartridges and also the 933 or 933XL color cartrdiges. All the cartrdiges need to be present and have ink to allow printing. If you already have the 932XL you could buy a three pack of the 933 with the required cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges.
Note you do not need to replace the color cartrdiges if they are not out of ink - check the ink levels as shown in Step 2 of the document here.

NOTE:The Ink Level icon that displays on your control panel differs depending on your printer model.
