Hi @ILIFFC1978,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an error message (E0) on your DeskJet 4133e printer after replacing the cartridges with the ones sent by Instant Ink, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Ensure Proper Installation:

  • Make sure that the cartridges are correctly installed. Open the printer cover and ensure that each cartridge is securely and correctly placed.

Check for Protective Strips:

  • Ensure that any protective strips or tapes on the cartridges have been removed. These strips are usually there to protect the ink nozzles during shipping.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Remove the cartridges and clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the printer. Use a lint-free cloth or cotton swab and distilled water if needed. Ensure they are completely dry before reinstalling.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Power on the printer and see if the error persists.

Check for Faulty Cartridges:

  • It's possible that the cartridges sent by Instant Ink are faulty. If you have old cartridges that were working before, try reinstalling them to see if the error persists. If the error goes away, it may indicate an issue with the new cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
