I have watched the HP Video on how to fix a carriage jam/paper jam and followed the steps through. There is no paper detected. I have reinstalled the ink cartridges and I have reset the printer by unplugging and waiting more than 60 seconds before plugging it back into the wall socket and trying again. The carriage jam persists. what do I do now?

Update: so after trying all of the steps, I felt the rod on which the ink cartridge slides. It felt a little gunky but looked fine. I took a bit of Windex and applied it to a paper towel and cleaned the rod. Walah! It worked. Next I shut down the printer and rebooted it. Same with my computer. Now everything is working just fine. Thanks.

Cleaning the cartridge bar worked for me too.  Solved a worrisome problem.
