Hi - I recently purchased this DeskJet and am replacing the ink cartridges for the first time. There were no problems replacing and accepting the color cartridge, but when I inserted the black cartridge I received a message that says "the cartridge indicated is not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured." I checked the security code on the side of the package and it is HP certified. The only difference is that the new cartridge is a 664XL and the one that came with the printer was not. This should not create a problem, but I cannot get it to work. I have tried all of the trouble shooting methods recommended by HP.

Hello,
Please try below steps..
- Remove both the cartridges from the printer.
- Power off the printer.
- Wait for 30 seconds and then power it on.
- Install the Tri Color Cartridge, and close the door. ( do not install the black ink cartridge ).
- Press OK if prompted either on printer or Computer to continue the alignment process.
- After the alignment page is printed, you may now install the black ink cartrige.
- Try making a black copy, it should work.
