Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm having difficulty getting my printer to recognize my refilled cartridge and I learned it's because of an upgrade that HP made to keep them from working. Having said this, I understand that HP has posted a driver that will correct the problem. Can you please let me know where I can get this driver? Thanks in advance.

I uninstalled the printer and drivers as you recommended, then reinstalled the drivers and it worked. I also made sure that I unchecked the automatic updates. The printer is working again. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi,

 

I know HP new firmware released recently for other printers, specially the HP Officejet Pro series, allows user to use third party or refilled inks but I have not heard anything about the Envy class printers.

 

Please try new firmware (download and install):

 

   http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en5640/EN5640_R1628A.exe

I struggled with printing since September 16', every day at work was a nightmare (thanks HP!), finally unistalled and then reinsatlled the computer driver/software. I went to the HP page for my printer and shut down everything on my PC then reinstalled the driver. now UNBELIEVABLY I can print normally. How devious of HP to do this to their customers.

Thanks for the link. I tried it but it didn't work for my HP Envy 5643. It looks like I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing another HP printer in the future!
