I have to switch  my wifi connection back and forth between printer and internet.  I know they both should work at the same time.  Please help me see what I am missing.  If you need any additional info please let me know.

Correct me if iam wrong .

You have two Wifi networks. One is that gives you Internet and other is the Printer's network, which should look like below format..

DIRECT-xx*-HP-< printer model >
HP-Print-xx*-< printer model >

If above is the case, just to let you know that you can access one Wifi Network at a time on PC. In this case its adviced to have the printer connected to WiFi network that has Internet on it. A Access Point kind.
