I have recently upgraded my wifi and of course the printer needs reconnecting.
I do not have a the old USB cable for the printer so I wondering how to connect the printer to the new wifi.
There is no option in the small display to enter a new wifi connection and my mac options do not seem to allow me to reconfigure based on the WPS pin options... Also the BT hub webpage doesn't allow me to add the device either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
WPS push button setup is the easiest way to connect the printer to a wireless network. However, the wireless router needs to support WPS push button setup. Most of the BT supplied routers has a WPS button on the top or side of your Hub. Here is how to perform a push button WPS setup:
1.) Press the wireless button on the control panel to show the wireless menu options on the printer display.
2.) Select Wireless Settings on the printer display.
3.) Select WPS
4.) Select Push Button and follow the on-screen instructions to activate WPS push setup.
5.) When you are prompted press and release the WPS button on your wireless router.
6.) Wait up to two minutes while the printer and router establish a network connection.
After the printer connects to the network, the wireless light will be on and steady.
Let me know how it goes!

Now, that is what you call a comprehensive answer.... and it is greatly appreciated.
However, apologies for not explainng in my original query, but I have tried the WPS option several times.... including restarting the router, removing automatic 'smart connect' options and several other BT forum inspired options.
Sadly to no avail.
Having looked around several other forums it seems the obvious option is to buy a compatible USB cable to reinstall the printer. which arrives tomorrow. Fingers crossed the massive investment of £3.29 for the cable will be money well spent!
I will let you know how I get on, so, at the very least, we can close this enquiry.
Again, much appreciated.

I have the answer!
I bought the compatible HP USB cable for the desk jet 3050. Costing 3.99 on Amazon.
I connected the cable and went into the Utility on the Mac. This allowed me to set up a new wireless connection for the printer. I then removed the printer USB cable when the wireless connection was established.
I then went into printer set up and added a new printer. And then printed wirelessly. All done!
