Envy 6020 all-in-one

Hi!
Yesterday I installed my new P Envy 6020 all-in-one printer. Everything went fine, however I noticed a constant high-pitched tone coming from the machine. Sometimes it warbles a little. It is loud enough to be noticeable through music when I am working and even my partner asked me what that sound was when entering my office. I think it is power-related, as it comes from the back where the power cable connects to the machine and it stops the moment I take the power off. I tried a different cable, but that has no effect.

My questions are as follows.
Is this a known defect?
Is this just what these 6020 machines do?
Are there machines that do not do this?

I looked on the forums and found similar topics but not with my specific machine and none with a definitive answer. The printer itself works as it should.

There should be no sound of that kind coming from the printer, especially the one you can hear when entering the room.

Make sure your printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet if the sound continues you will need to get your printer repaired/replaced.

Hi,

I returned the printer to the store and got another one. This made the same sound so I returned it to the store too. We hooked up 5 different printers and they all made the same high pitched whine when plugged in. Apparently is something the model just does. The store people could also hear the noise. I find it strange this is not mentioned anywhere. But yes. Now I will have to find a printer that does not have voltage whine.
