copy button won't work on HP officejet 5258

HP officejet 5258, copy button no longer works. tried the HP website and the self help software and nothing worked. I currently have deleted the printer from devices, uninstalled all HP software and did a reset to factory defaults on the printer.

Any suggestions? Is this a known issue with HP printers? It seems to be stuck in use. I say this because I attempted to print or scan from the computer before resetting and deleting the printer and software and the "printer in use" error came up. 
After that I did all of the above.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform a Semi full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. 

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
