when pressing copy,it does not try to copy from the glass flatbed. it says the document feeder was not able to pick up the original. load the original in the document feeder and try again.also, it will not pick up from the document feeder.
have tried all other solutions with no luck. downloaded the firmware but when trying to execute the exe file it says printer is up to date

did all the "solutions" except one that said to remove the flap on the feeder. did not want to force it because seemed to be firmly attached. did find a get-around by scanning to the computer and then printing the scan from the computer.
it seems that the printer does not recognize that there is an original on the glass flatbed and goes immediately to try picking up from the document feeder. it also does not pick up the document when I put it there.
did the re-boot and reset
tried to install firmware but it says printer is up to date and will not proceed

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.
