My previous HP printer would print out the date in the lower right corner when printing web pages. This one insists that it is "12/31/69". The control panel displays the correct date and a time which seems to be GMT How do I advance the date stamp by 47 years?

I have no explanation, but the problem seems to be over. I printed a page this morning. I started to enter the correct date and time, and they were already there.

I apologize to HP and anyone who may have been misled by my too-quick conclusion. The new printer was the only change in the system, so I "naturally" assumed the printer to be at fault. My browser and email program have similar printing procedures (??). The browser has the date-time stamp problem, the email does not. The printer should not have entered the picture. I've checked this on my wife's computer, and on our laptop. The two desktops run the same OS, the laptop a different OS. All three have the same problem in the same browser. I have thus shifted the blame to the browser. The laptop is now downloading an update to the browser, and I have hopes that this problem may really be solved. Again, apologeze to all whom I may have misled.

I'm trying to figure out how to print the date & time stamp, too...but haven't been able to find anything within the browswer settings. It used to print on every single thing I printed, but now it doesn't...Could it be something with Windows 10? I found instructions on a "per-page" basis, by going into Page Setup...but I would like to have it automatically print when I print payment receipts, etc...not just in Excel or Word documents, which I've already customized to do so.

Hi! @kahebert, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you need to know how to print data and time on every page you print from the printer.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
which application do you print from?
Click the printer icon (or Ctrl+P) and in page setup, you can set date and time. Refer the image attached below for more information.
Hope this helps!
Have a great day! 🙂

Thanks, Mr. Robot, for your suggestions, but it didn't work. I acted as if I was printing this page. Setup did not give me the opportunity to arrange margins etc. in the header/footer. When I scanned through the preview, the date/time appeared as "12/31/69 4:29 pm" - it was actually about noon on 7/29/2017. I'm beginning to think it is a pseudo-Y2K bug. I'm using Linux and Firefox.

@supportee, Thanks for your quick response and time.
I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
Check if the date and time in the printer control panel are correct if not change the date and time and print again.
And I'm not aware of using Linux. I would suggest you contact HP phone support and get assistance or wait for an expert to answer.

Take Care!
Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂
