If you cannot select the printer to submit the job and you cannot select the default printing device, it might mean the Full Feature Software is not installed - or, if the software is installed, it is not fully functional.
For example, you should be able to select the printer in Word >Open Document > File > Print In the "Printer" selection box
General Example - for the purposes of this example, ignore the instructions showing how to add 'borders" to the document
Word_Print_Page-Setup_Borders_1
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on the Printer > Set printer to Default
Example
Printer_Set_as_Default_3
What to do?
Try consider:
- Uninstall the existing printer software from Programs and Features
- Restart the computer and log in
- Download - Save a new copy of the Full Feature Software (printer program that includes the Printer Assistant)
- Navigate to the folder in which you saved the software installation package (likely Downloads)
- Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
