Hello, I recently discontinued my "instant Ink" agreement.  I got a notice that my printer would no longer print.  I exchanged the instant ink cartridges for cartridges I bought personally.  I still have an error situation.  I have turned the printer off and on.  I tried reloading the new cartridges, etc., but nothing has worked.  What can I do?

Hi @Sisterpine5740,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer might still be expecting cartridges from the Instant Ink program, even though you've replaced them with standard cartridges. Here's what you can try.

  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure the cartridges you purchased are compatible with your HP All-In-One 24 printer model. Sometimes using incompatible cartridges can trigger error messages.
  • Reset the Printer: Try resetting your printer to its factory settings. This can often resolve various error messages. You can usually find instructions on how to reset your specific printer model in the user manual or on HP's support website.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address compatibility issues and resolve error messages.
  • Remove Instant Ink Settings: If you can access the printer settings menu, look for any options related to Instant Ink and try to remove or disable them. This might help the printer recognize the new cartridges correctly.
  • Check for Obstructions: Sometimes, there might be small pieces of plastic or other obstructions blocking the cartridge slots or preventing the cartridges from making proper contact. Carefully inspect the cartridge area and remove any obstructions you find.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
