hp deskjet 2050
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

On the driver update high sierra is not available, and when I install the former driver HP_Mountain_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.23.17  the installation crashes.

I do have a very limited driver from the OS, but it hardly works.

what can I do?

Thank you for being a part of HP Forums.

As per the document available here HP Deskjet 2050 is compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra. However, an HP full feature printer software and driver is not yet available, but we can use Apple software update to install the driver. Here is how to do it:

1.) Download and install HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X from here.

2.) Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.

3.) Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.

4.) Check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list. If your printer is listed, click the name of your printer, then click the minus sign  to delete the printer.

5.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer.

6.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, then select the name of your printer.

7.) Click Add to add the printer to the list.

8.) Try to print.

Let me know how it goes!
