Hi everyone

I have just purchased an HP Ink Tank Wireless 416. I have done a test print and it seems that the very bottom of the page has been clipped.

This is not an ink issue. For clarity, it is as if the printer thinks that an A4 is slightly larger than it actually is, hence the bottom has been cropped or clipped.

As I am using a MAc, I cannot see any Page Set up option, and I have selected A4 where possible.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Power resetting the printer, updating the printer firmware and using AirPrint driver may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:

Step 1:  Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Check the print settings on MAC. Click here

Click here to know How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Duplex) (Mac)

Try to print. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Note: Make sure to choose the right Operating system and version before you download the firmware.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Step 4: Update software on Mac and reinstall the printer using AirPrint driver.

  1. Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
  2. Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
  3.  If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.
  4. Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
  5. Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
  6. Select AirPrint from the Use menu
  7. Try to print.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi - thanks for this help. I have just bought the printer and everything is up to date. Should I be able to print a whole Keynote slide? I assume this is in theory possible?

@Simon_Robinson

Yes, you can print a whole slide from the keynote app. Let us try these steps:

Open keynote> choose the Slide you want to print.

Click on File > print > Click on Show details if required

select paper handling from the unnamed menu > Check the box for Scale to fit paper size

Go to Destination paper size > select Suggested paper A4/ A4 borderless.

Try to print.

Also, let me know if Duplex printing is working fine.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
