Hi @Janice227,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E6 error on your HP 6465e printer indicates a problem that usually requires troubleshooting. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Steps to Fix E6 Error
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 10-15 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open all accessible areas of the printer and check for any jammed paper or obstructions. Clear any debris found.
Inspect the Ink Cartridges:
- Open the cartridge access door and ensure the cartridges are properly seated. Remove and reseat them if necessary.
- Check for any protective tape still on the cartridges.
Check for Any Display Messages:
- If the printer has a display screen, check for any specific error messages or prompts that may provide more details about the issue.
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:
- If the issue persists, try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This can usually be done through the printer’s settings menu.
Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware:
- Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model and install them if applicable.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
