Hi @mabturning,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is not connecting to email for features like "Scan to Email" or similar, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Printer Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel. Look for a Wi-Fi icon or connection status.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the printer's settings or using the HP Smart app.

Verify Email Settings:

  • Double-check the email settings in your printer. Ensure that the SMTP server address, email address, and password are correctly entered.
  • If you're using a Gmail account, ensure that you have enabled "Allow less secure apps" in your Google account settings or consider using an app password if you have two-factor authentication enabled.

Check Network Configuration:

  • Ensure your printer is on the same network as your computer or mobile device. You may need to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and computer or mobile device to refresh the connection.

Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Sometimes, firewall or security settings on your network can block printer connections. Check your router settings to ensure nothing is blocking the printer's access.

Test with Different Email:

  • If possible, try setting up a different email account to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is related to a specific email service.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
