envy 6000 will not print - job is released and then immediately deleted from the print queue. There are no error codes. Blue light on and printer status is ready. It printed yesterday. Today it's a huge paperweight.

Hi @qmatt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP ENVY 6000 is not printing, and print jobs are being deleted from the queue without error messages, here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Restart Printer and Devices

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off your HP ENVY 6000 and unplug it for at least 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart the Computer: Restart the device from which you're sending the print jobs (PC, laptop, etc.).
  • Restart the Router: If you are printing wirelessly, restart your router as well.

2. Clear Print Queue

  • Sometimes, print jobs get stuck, and clearing the print queue can resolve this.
    • On Windows:
      1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
      2. Right-click on your HP ENVY 6000 printer and select See what's printing.
      3. In the queue window, click on Printer > Cancel All Documents.
    • On Mac:
      1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
      2. Select your HP ENVY 6000 and click Open Print Queue.
      3. Right-click on the job and select Delete.
  • Try printing again after clearing the queue.

3. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • A corrupt driver may cause print jobs to fail. Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers.
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (Mac).
    • Remove the printer from the list and then reinstall it using the HP Smart app or by downloading the full driver package from the HP Support website.

4. Check Printer Spooler Service (Windows)

  • The print spooler might have encountered an issue.
    1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    2. Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
    3. Right-click on it and select Restart.
    4. Ensure that the spooler is set to Automatic.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can do this using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support site.
  • Firmware updates often address bugs and performance issues.

6. Test with Another Device

  • Try printing from a different device (phone, tablet, or another computer) to see if the problem is specific to your computer.

7. Reset the Printing System (Mac)

  • If you're using a Mac and the issue persists:
    1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
    3. This will remove all printers, and you can add the HP ENVY 6000 again.

After performing these steps, test the printer again.
