Hi @april19671,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 024A493F on the HP ENVY Inspire 7255e All-in-One Printer is unusual, especially right after setting it up. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.

Steps to Try:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

Check for Setup Issues:

  • Ensure the printer is using the correct setup cartridges (usually provided in the box) during the initial setup. Sometimes, using regular cartridges before the setup is complete can trigger errors.

Perform a Semi-Reset:

  • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Hold down the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual charge.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If you can navigate the printer’s menu or connect it to the internet, try updating the firmware. An outdated firmware can sometimes trigger such errors. This can be done via the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel if it allows.

Hard Reset (Factory Reset):

  • Since you are having trouble with the factory reset, try pressing and holding the "Cancel" and "Back" buttons together for about 10-15 seconds until the printer resets.

Check HP Smart App:

  • If the error persists, try checking the HP Smart app (if you're using it) for any error messages or recommendations specific to the printer’s setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
