I have checked all ink tanks and they have enough ink...more than half in each. I have turned off the printer and unplugged everything and then replugged it all in and started the printer again...error still occurs and lights won't stop flashing. Any solutions please?

Hi @sweetpea21,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP printer error code OXC4EB8012 is often related to a general hardware failure, and it can be caused by various issues such as a print head malfunction, ink system failure, or other mechanical problems. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this error.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it back on.
  • This can sometimes clear the error by resetting the printer's internal memory.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open all accessible panels and check for any paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
  • Remove any obstructions you find carefully.

Clean the Print Head and Carriage:

  • Turn off the printer and open the access door to the print head and ink cartridges.
  • Gently move the print carriage to the center if it is not already there.
  • Check for any obstructions or ink buildup around the print head and carriage.
  • Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean any visible ink or debris.

Reinstall the Ink Cartridges:

  • Remove all the ink cartridges from the printer.
  • Inspect the cartridges for any damage or ink buildup.
  • Reinstall the cartridges one by one, ensuring each is seated properly.

Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware/Software:

  • Visit the HP support website and check for any firmware updates for your specific printer model.
  • Download and install any available updates.
  • You can also try reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.

Here are additional details on how to perform some of these steps:

Checking for Paper Jams

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Open the printer cover to access the interior.
  3. Look for any pieces of paper or other objects that might be obstructing the printer mechanism.
  4. Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid tearing it.

Cleaning the Print Head and Carriage

  1. Open the printer to access the ink cartridges.
  2. Gently move the print head to the center.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean around the print head.
  4. Let the print head and surrounding area dry completely before turning the printer back on.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, providing the specific model of your HP printer can help narrow down the troubleshooting steps further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
