The error codes DB02B14 and DB02CB14 on HP printers typically indicate cartridge-related issues. These errors may be caused by:

  • Incompatible or incorrect cartridges
  • Missing or damaged cartridges
  • Cartridges not communicating properly with the printer
  • Use of non-HP or refilled cartridges

Here's how to resolve the issue:

Power Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove both cartridges.
  • Inspect for any damage, dried ink, or debris on the copper contacts.
  • Clean the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Reinstall the cartridges securely.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Ensure you are using original HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may cause communication errors.
  • If you suspect a counterfeit cartridge, you can verify it using the HP anti-counterfeit | HP® Official Site

Update Printer Firmware

Use HP Smart App (Windows/macOS)

  • Install the HP Smart App and use the Diagnose & Fix tool to resolve cartridge and connectivity issues. 

Replace the Cartridge

  • If the error persists, try replacing the cartridge with a new, genuine HP cartridge.
