Hi community,
I understand that you are getting an E2 error code on the HP printer and want to know what it is referring to. I will be glad to help.
➡️ Step 1: Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
➡️ Step 2: Update the printer firmware

➡️ Step 3: Printing Documents
You can resolve the error by canceling the print job, and then changing the print settings in the printing software.
- Frist, Press the Cancel button
to cancel the print job or clear the error.
- Then, change the paper settings to match the loaded paper in the printer, Refer HP Printers - Printing Documents (Windows)
