I purchased a used printer, which was working, but now there is a "cannot print. visit instaink.com".
When I try to set up a new account, I get the message "expired" and am offered a new printer with instaink account.
THe site will not allow me to simply order new cartridges or get past the error message.
Actually, there seems to be sufficient ink in the cartridges.
Is there a way to disconnect from INSTAPRINT ?

Hi @gjh9,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your HP ENVY 4520 printer is prompting you to visit hpinstaink.com, which is related to HP's Instant Ink subscription service. If you want to disconnect from Instant Ink and stop receiving these prompts, you can follow these steps.
Cancel Your Instant Ink Subscription:
- Log in to your HP Instant Ink account on their website (hp.com/go/instantinklogin).
- Navigate to the "My Plan" section.
- Select "Cancel Enrollment" to stop the Instant Ink service. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cancellation process.
Remove Instant Ink Cartridges (if applicable):
- If your printer currently has Instant Ink cartridges installed, you might need to replace them with standard HP ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges are linked to your subscription, so replacing them with regular cartridges can prevent the printer from prompting you to sign up or visit hpinstaink.com.
Reset the Printer (Optional):
- Perform a reset of your printer to clear any stored preferences or settings related to Instant Ink. This step is optional but can sometimes help in stopping these prompts.
By canceling the Instant Ink subscription and using regular HP ink cartridges, you should be able to disconnect from the service and resolve the prompts to visit hpinstaink.com.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
