Hi @Deborahb1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an error message on your HP Officejet Pro 8620 E-All-In-One Printer indicating a problem with the printer or ink system, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer again. This simple reset may clear temporary errors.
  • Check ink levels: Ensure that you have enough ink in the cartridges. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges with new ones or refill them according to the printer's instructions.
  • Clean the printhead: Sometimes, clogged printheads can cause printing issues. Most printers have a built-in printhead cleaning utility. Access your printer's settings or control panel to find the option for printhead cleaning. Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the cleaning process.
  • Update printer firmware: Outdated firmware can lead to compatibility issues and errors. Visit the HP support website, search for your printer model, and download the latest firmware available for your device. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the printer's firmware.
  • Reinstall printer drivers: Corrupted or outdated printer drivers can also cause errors. Uninstall the existing printer drivers from your computer, restart the computer, and then download and install the latest drivers from the HP website for your specific printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
