Error 71.02.4A on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 typically indicates a problem with the scanner mechanism or cartridge movement. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Power Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
- Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.
2. Check for Physical Obstructions
- Open the scanner lid and inspect for any paper jams or debris.
- If the cartridge carriage is stuck, gently move it to the center.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges securely.
3. Clean the Scanner Glass and Printhead Contacts
- Wipe the scanner glass with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
- Remove the ink cartridges and clean the gold contacts with a dry cloth.
- Reinsert the cartridges and close the access door.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware update for your printer.
- Install the update and restart the printer.
5. Reset the Printer
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Restart the printer and check if the error persists.
