HP Envy 7855 printer - growl in feed roller when feeding paper and vertical streaks in black print. I have run the cartridge cleaner three times to no avail. Ther report from "Cartridge Cleaner" looks good with the exception of 'Black'. the 'Black' rectangle is streaked, three shades and the left edge is jagged rather than linear.

Are you facing the same issue while making a copy?
Try using a different ink cartridge and check if the issue persists.
I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Manually clean the area around the ink nozzles

Gather the following materials:
-
A clean, lint-free cloth or a clean, dry cotton swab
-
Distilled or bottled water
CAUTION:
Do not use tap water because it might contain contaminants that can damage the printhead.

Open the ink cartridge access door.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
Lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out of its slot.
CAUTION:
Do not remove both ink cartridges at the same time. Remove and then clean each ink cartridge one at a time. Do not leave an ink cartridge outside the printer for more than 30 minutes.

Hold the ink cartridge by its sides.

Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth or swab with bottled or distilled water.
-
Clean the face and edges around the ink nozzle with the cloth or swab.
CAUTION:
Do not clean the ink nozzle plate.

Nozzle plate - Do not clean
-
Area surrounding ink nozzle - Do clean
-
Ink cartridge contacts - Do not clean
-

Wait 10 minutes for the cleaned area to dry before you continue.

Hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the contacts toward the printer, insert the ink cartridge into its slot, and then gently push the ink cartridge until it snaps into place.

Repeat these steps to clean around the nozzles on the other ink cartridge.

Close the ink cartridge access door.
Try to print.

Replacing the black ink cartridge resolved the streaking issue. Cleaning the cartridge initially helped but by the second page the print quality was much worse.
The growl sounds as if the roller support bushings are dry. If they’re supposed to be dry, perhaps a sticky substance was inadvertently introduced to the bushing during assembly. A local HP service shop indicated the cost of repair frequently exceeds the replacement cost of the printer.
