how to silence ringer on printer

How do I stop my all-in-one printer from ringing every time the phone rings? I still want to be able to hear the dial tone, etc, when I send or manually receive a fax. Thanks.

Hi,

Swipe your finger from top to the bottom of the screen and tap the gear icon.

Tap Fax Setup.

Tap Preferences.

Tap Fax Volume and change the option to Soft or Off, that should only affect the ring volume and not the fax tone volume.

I did what you suggested and now I can't hear any of the dial tones when the fax is dialing or the receiving phone is ringing. It appears this suggestion silences ALL fax sounds. Not what I was hoping for, but at least it doesn't ring every time the phone rings.
