new hp deskjet 4100e printer information light on always. checked with app and diagnostics says everything ok and firmware up to date. pressing the button just prints a status page saying everything ok. I don't like "information" lights that stay on when "everything" is ok.
HP "Smart" is installed and the printer is in my HP installed list, but does not show up in the "Profile" above.

addition: The display shows the error flag (!) and 0. The symbol to the lower right of the wifi symbol is on.
Wifi is on & steady. The symbol (letter) to the upper right of the wifi symbol is also on. ink levels are full.

printer information light always on so you push the button to print the button for help
Try the Below suggestions -
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Try making a copy
Hope this helps!

I have removed the power cord and/or shut all power down twice and restarted with no change.
I have attempted to update the firmware through the app as well as from my PC, with no luck. I did update the firmware during the installation process.
The app requires the PIN# inside the ink area: The app doesn't say if the PIN is case sensitive and it is impossible to tell if what I typed is good since the echo is a series of dots. The pin is only 6 characters but sometimes the app appears to expect 8-1o.
