hp 4630
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

My 4630 seems to work fine with one of my laptops but has stopped working with the other. I will send a print job which shows in the print que for a few seconds then disappears like it has been printed yet nothing happens at the printer. I have removed and reinstalled the driver/software, It shows connected in the computers devices and printers, I tried using a USB cable. Another wierd thing is that the print and scan doctor shows that it is not installed. it asks if i want it to install and I say yes, it goes through the download and extract, I rerun the print/scan doctor and it still shows it not installed. Again, the computer system shows that it is installed. I have removed and installed the print/scan doctor and the printer software 2 times now. I'm sure its a setting but cannot figure out what it is.

Sorry working on 2 issues right now. This printer issue is with windows 10, 64 bit if that changes anything on your end as to fixing the problem

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help

Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Try printing and let me know how it goes

I have tried this to no avail. It is still doing the same thing, hit print, the printing icon shows at the bottom of the screen, if you open the active printers screen it shows that the page is printing, then it disappears like it has been printed. any further steps I can take?

It looks like you were interacting with @KrazyToad, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.

Print job disappearing from queue normally indicates that the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file might be corrupted or damaged. Removing the printer software, renaming the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file, and then reinstall the printer software may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Use the steps available here to remove the printer software and drivers.

2.) Right-click the Start button  or the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type %windir%.

3.) Double-click the System 32 folder, double-click the Spool folder, and then double-click the Drivers folder.

4.) Double-click the x64 folder and then double-click the 3 folder.

5.) Right-click the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file, and then click Rename.

6.) Delete the DLL suffix, type OLD in its place, and then press Enter. The file name now displays as HPBXPSRENDER.OLD.

7.) When the "If you change the file name extension, the file might become unstable. Are you sure you want to change it?" message displays, click Yes.

8.) Close the window.

9.) Download and install the printer software and driver available here

Keep me posted!

When I search %windir% and go though the system 32 > spool > drivers  > x64 > 3, there is no file or file close to the name HPBXPSRENDER.DLL. Is there somewhere else it may be?

@jared3549

If your Windows is 64 bit then the file will be under x64>3 folder. If it is a 32 bit operating system then the file will be under w32x86>3 folder.

That's unfortunate, it's possible that this printer model doesn't require the HPBXPSRENDER.DLLfile. Let's check and give full permissions for the printer:

1.) Use the steps available here to add a Windows Built in Printer driver.

2.) Open path C:/Windows/System32/Spool

3.) Right click on PRINTERS folder and select Properties

4.) Click Security tab.

5.) Click Advanced

6.) Under Permissions tab click Continue

7.) Allow Full control to all entries below Principal.

8.) Click Apply and Ok.

9.) Open Devices and Printers.

10.) Right click the name of your printer and select Printer properties

11.) Click Security tab and give full permissions to all the entries under Group or user names.

12.) Restart the PC.

13.) Try to print.
