@shockacon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 8138e!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds frustrating, but don't worry! Here are some steps to troubleshoot your HP 8138E printer error:
- Restart Everything – Turn off the printer, PC, and router. Wait for a minute, then turn them back on.
- Check for Paper Jams – Open the printer and check if any paper is stuck.
- Verify Connection – Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that your PC recognizes it.
- Run HP Print and Scan Doctor – Download and run HP’s troubleshooting tool HP Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix issues.
- Update Drivers – Go to HP website and update your printer drivers.
- Set as Default Printer – On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your HP printer, and set it as default.
- Check Printer Queue – Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, select See what’s printing, and clear any stuck jobs.
- Try a Different Connection – If using Wi-Fi, try connecting via USB.
If the issue persists, let me know if there’s an error code displayed! 🚀
Take care, and have an amazing day!
