hp deskjet plus 4155 only prints pdf files ?

hp deskjet plus 4155 only prints pdf files and pictures and installs with deskjet plus 4100 drivers call me confused....  what files doe it print through smart center word, excel or pdf and google   Help im confused

I get that - printer software and the method(s) used to install the drivers is "different" from what it used to be.

I may not understand it either - I share with you what I think...

HP Smart Applications for Windows and for Mobile Devices

The more obvious addition (in the relatively recent past) - HP Smart Printer Applications to support printing and scanning

HP Smart for Windows is an application - it is "leaner" (takes up less room on the computer), it is presented in an  format that is similar in looks and structure to the Mobile versions of the HP Smart Applications.

Because HP Smart is an application, it lives in (is located in) Settings > Apps > Apps and Features.

This is nice software, even if it is an "application".

HP Smart is an application available from the Windows Store.

Open the Software and Drivers Support Website for your printer > Check the Box Get the App

A less obvious change -

Easy Start Printer Setup

From what I have read, using this installation method can / does provide "full driver" foundation that supports printing for your "not PDF" and "not Image" printing - Word, for example, is a document format supported for printing.

In some cases (some printers), using Easy Start to load the drivers for the printer has replaced installing the "Full Feature Software"

How does this work? 

From what I can tell (little enough), "Easy Start" is a wrapper that you can use to install the drivers supported printers.  If / when the option is offered, select to install the "Full Driver".
