HP 6000e Envy was inactive for several months. Printer displays E0 even after replacing both cartridges. Tried powering off several times, E0 persists. Printer seems to be printing okay. How can error code be cleared?

Error code 0 finally cleared. I replaced both cartridges that had plenty of ink. Do HP ink cartridges dry up when the printer is inactive for several months? I had the same issue hapoen at our other home where the printer would not print properly after several months of inactivity. Again, had to replace cartridges.
