hp envy 6234 will not print duplex like a book only like a calendar - selecting 'long edge' does not work, it prints the same as 'short edge', i.e. the ouput pages are flipped over like a calendar. I have tried various option with no luck. All advice gratefully recieved. Thank you in advance.

Hello Kumar and thank you for the advice. This has fixed the issue but please note I was already using HP Smart. Part of the installation of this full software set made me disconnect the wireless network connection to the printer, so I found HP Smart would no longer work.
Instead I reinstalled & set up HP Smart. I then installed the software pack up to the point of network configuration, I did not set up the software for scanner, printer etc as I already have HP Smart for these, and they prompted me to reconfigure the wireless network.
I found the correct driver had now been installed as part of the pack & duplex printing now works on both 'long edge' and on 'short edge' - problem solved. I then deleted the shortcuts to the new software from my desktop as I will not be able to use them anyway, so not an issue. But all I wanted was to install the correct driver only, not the rest of the software.
Thank again, so please close this ticket.

Hi @nisbeam
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
- Kindly refer to this document to know how to print on both sides with the correct settings.
This could be an issue with the printer driver installed. Let us try these steps:
Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try printing.
Alternatively, use the HP Smart app to print from your Win PC and check if that helps.
Click here to download and know more about the app.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
Have a great day!
