Hi @tech2019,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer is having issues with the tricolor cartridge, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the tricolor cartridge is correctly installed in the printer. Open the printer cover, gently remove the cartridge, and then reinsert it firmly into its slot.
- Inspect Cartridge: Check the tricolor cartridge for any signs of damage or leaks. If you notice any, replace the cartridge with a new one.
- Clean Cartridge Contacts: Sometimes, dirt or debris on the cartridge contacts can cause issues. Turn off the printer, remove the tricolor cartridge, and gently wipe the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow the cartridge contacts to dry completely before reinserting.
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve cartridge recognition issues.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs related to cartridge recognition.
- Reset Printer: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, try resetting the printer. This typically involves turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a minute, and then plugging it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the problem persists.
- Replace Cartridge: If none of the above steps work, and if the cartridge is old or depleted, replace it with a new HP tricolor cartridge compatible with your printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
